How to Choose a Cruise Cabin? Category, Occupancy and Location

When comparing two cabin options on the same ship, do not look only at the category name or starting price. The number of guests the cabin accommodates, the bed layout, view information and the cabin's location on the ship are also part of the choice. Make the comparison on the same ship, the same departure date and the same occupancy.

Match the cabin code to the ship's own description

Do not transfer a category code used by one operator directly to another ship. Read the code together with the current cabin description and deck plan of the ship you have selected. Also check that the category name and the exact cabin number are not the same piece of information.

For example, the official ship page for Celestyal Discovery presents cabin types and the deck plan together. The same page states that the view may be obstructed for the XBO code. The phrase "outside cabin" should not be read as a guaranteed uninterrupted view in every cabin.

Clarify which per-person price you are comparing

The per-person price of a cabin used by one person is not the same calculation as that of a cabin shared by two. Ask about the bed arrangement offered for a third or fourth guest, age-based pricing conditions and the actual capacity of the cabin. Do not calculate a total budget without asking which occupancy the "per person" amount shown on screen refers to.

Discuss the bed arrangement and your usage needs

Confirm the lower bed, upper bed or pull-down bed options before booking. For those travelling together, find out whether a request for adjacent or connecting cabins is only a request or a confirmed arrangement. If you have special access requirements, verify a suitable cabin and ship layout with the operator separately.

Open the deck plan and look at the location

Review the cabin's location together with the restaurants, elevators, public areas and other decks. Do not assume that a location is the quietest or most comfortable option for everyone. Determine your priorities and ask how the category or cabin number you have chosen meets that need.

Separate a specific cabin from a category guarantee

Check whether the offer gives a specific cabin number or a category. When the allocation will be finalised, the possibility of change, and how any category guarantee works should be explained in the offer's own terms. Do not use a free upgrade or a particular view promise as a reason for your choice without written confirmation.

Make the final decision based on the same package

Also check which services are included in the cabin price. The same ship and cabin name may come with different dates or package inclusions. Open the price table of the product you selected from the Cruise Ship Tours category and compare date, number of guests, category and total inclusions on the same line.

After making your choice, you can review the transaction steps through the Booking and Payment Guide. If you are considering a cabin or date change, confirm the conditions of the selected product; the general Cancellation, Refund and Change Guide does not replace those product conditions.

The Greek island facilitated-entry visa scheme is intended for eligible Turkish citizens travelling by sea from Türkiye to participating Greek islands. It requires an application and approval; it is not a visa that every traveller can obtain simply by arriving at the port.

Contact GÜVENTUR before booking to confirm whether the scheme is operating for your travel dates, the permitted stay, fees, required documents and submission deadline. Prepare your passport copy, biometric photographs, financial documents, return ferry booking and accommodation details as requested. Entry remains subject to the Greek authorities’ decision.

Browse the Lesvos tours or ferry tickets on the GÜVENTUR website. Open the product details, choose an available date and departure port, and review the programme, inclusions and conditions before completing your booking.

For help choosing a trip or checking availability, contact GÜVENTUR through the website’s contact or WhatsApp options. Your booking confirmation will include the relevant travel and document instructions.

The file generally includes a valid passport and copy, recent biometric photographs, the completed and signed application form, financial documents, a return ferry booking and accommodation confirmation. Additional documents may be required for your circumstances.

Ask GÜVENTUR for the current checklist and submission deadline before preparing your file. Passport validity, blank pages, photograph requirements and supporting documents must meet the Greek authorities’ current rules. Submitting documents does not guarantee visa approval or entry.

Travellers must carry a valid passport and meet the entry requirements applicable to their nationality and passport type. Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports generally need a valid Schengen visa or an approved visa under the Greek island facilitated-entry scheme, where available.

Visa exemptions apply to certain Turkish special, service and diplomatic passport holders. These rules do not apply automatically to travellers of other nationalities. Confirm your eligibility and current document requirements before booking; GÜVENTUR can assist with document checks and the application process.

GÜVENTUR can help arrange car rental on Lesvos. Port or hotel collection may be available, depending on the rental company, vehicle availability and your booking.

Book in advance, especially in busy periods. Before confirming, check the accepted driving licence, minimum age, deposit, insurance, collection point and return conditions with the rental provider. Turkish-language support is available through GÜVENTUR.

GÜVENTUR offers day trips, 2-day tours with 1 night and 3-day tours with 2 nights on Lesvos. Day trips usually return on the same day; overnight programmes allow more time to explore the island.

Depending on the itinerary, visits may include Molyvos, Petra, Plomari or Agiasos. Not every programme visits every destination. Check the selected tour page for the exact itinerary, accommodation, departure times and included services.

Children and infants need their own valid travel documents and must be included in the ferry booking. Visa requirements depend on the child’s nationality and passport type; being a child does not by itself create a visa exemption.

Child and infant fares, age limits and any visa-related charges vary by operator and programme. Check the selected trip and contact GÜVENTUR about the documents needed for minors, including any consent or accompanying-adult requirements.
