Yes, since Midilli (Lesbos) Island is within the borders of Greece, it is subject to visa procedures. Our guests holding a burgundy (ordinary) passport must have a valid Schengen Visa on the date of travel or a Greek Islands Visa on Arrival, provided that they submit their documents to our agency in advance. Our guests holding a green (special) passport are exempt from visa requirements. For smooth entry to the island, all passports must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from the end date of travel, and it is mandatory that the passport does not contain a TRNC entry stamp.
In Greece, the official currency is the Euro (€). International credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) work without any issues at major shopping locations such as the Lidl Market, which we will visit on day 1 of our tour, the Jumbo Mall, which we will visit on day 3, and the Barbayanni Ouzo Factory in Plomari. However, we recommend that you carry cash Euros in small bills for extra payments such as coffee breaks in the villages of Agiasos and Mandamados, traditional lokma/yogurt tastings, or the Taverna night.
Yes! In the fairy-tale town of Molivos (Mithymna), on the island we will visit on the 2nd day of our tour, our guests are given free time for lunch by the sea and to swim and cool off in the waters of the Aegean. Therefore, you should definitely have a swimsuit, towel, beach slippers, and sunscreen in your suitcase. Also, on the 2nd day, since we will climb 114 steps to reach the monastery in Petra and walk through the cobblestone streets of authentic villages, it is very important that you choose non-slip, comfortable, and orthopedic walking shoes.
Our tour's departure point is Dikili Port. On Wednesday morning, to ensure that ticket delivery, check-in, passport, and customs procedures can be completed without delay, we meet our Güventur team at the port at 07:00. After the procedures, we reach Lesvos by our ferry after a pleasant and short journey across the Aegean waters.
No, on the evening of the 1st day of our tour, the Greek Tavern Night with live music, sirtaki, and rich Aegean meze, organized to keep alive the island’s traditional entertainment culture, is an extra (optional) activity. Guests who wish to take part in this enjoyable Aegean evening can easily make a reservation by giving their names to our guide during the tour.
