🎒 What Should Be in Your Bag for the Flighted Balkan Tour?
Valid Passport and ID: Your original passport, valid for at least 6 months, is mandatory to have with you throughout the tour. Even if the tour is visa-free, you cannot travel without a passport. It is also recommended that you bring your new chipped ID card as a backup.
Visa/Green Passport Documents for Dubrovnik: If you will join the optional extra Dubrovnik (Croatia) tour on the evening of day 4, make sure to keep your valid Schengen visa or Green Passport in your carry-on bag in an easily accessible place.
Small Euro Banknotes: For your daily expenses, lunches, and small purchases during free time, having Euro in small denominations such as 5, 10, and 20 will make things much easier when receiving change and at border crossings.
Small Backpack for Carry-On: Since your large suitcase will be checked in on the plane and later placed under the bus, carry your passport, medication, charger, power bank, wallet, and other valuable or urgently needed items in a small hand/backpack with you.
Comfortable and Non-Slip Sport Shoes: The old city centers of historic towns such as Kotor, Mostar, and Sarajevo are made up of marble and cobblestone surfaces. Choose comfortable, non-slip walking shoes that will not tire your feet.
Layered Clothing and a Raincoat: Due to nighttime flights and the air conditioning on the bus, bringing a thin cardigan, jacket, or shawl will increase your comfort. It is also useful to have a light raincoat or umbrella for the Balkans' changeable weather conditions.
Power Bank (Portable Charger): A high-capacity portable charger and your cables, so your phone does not run out of battery while taking photos of the wonderful memories during all-day city tours.
Personal Medications and Regular Prescriptions: A small personal health kit including any medication you regularly use for chronic conditions, as well as motion sickness medication, painkillers, stomach protectors, and band-aids.
Sun Protection: Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen to protect you from the sun during our outdoor walking tours.
⚠️ Important Notes to Know Before Booking
Passport Status and Visa Exception (Dubrovnik)
- All guests joining our tour must have a passport validity of at least 6 months from the return date of the tour. We also recommend that you bring your new chip-enabled ID cards with you.
- Our tour is visa-free. You can join with only your passport (whether maroon, green, or gray).
- Important Exception: The Optional Dubrovnik Tour on the 4th day of the program is within the borders of Croatia. Since Croatia is a member of the European Union, only guests with a valid Schengen Visa or a Special (Green) Passport can join this extra tour. Guests without a visa will spend this time as free time at our hotel.
Flight Times and Airport Meeting
- Our İzmir - Skopje outbound flights take place just after midnight (for example, 01:55 or 01:25). Therefore, our airport meeting is held at 23:00 on the night before the flight date. (For example, for a June 22 flight, the meeting is at 23:00 on the night of June 21.) Please carefully check your flight date and time in your travel documents.
- The responsibility for correct entry of name, surname, and T.C. identity number information on the flight tickets belongs to the guest. Our agency cannot be held responsible for possible delays and schedule changes caused by the airline.
Border Crossings and Customs Checks
- Since our route covers 6 different countries, we will have a high number of border crossings. Unforeseen waiting times may occur during passport checks and vehicle procedures at customs gates. Our tour guide has the authority to make changes to the program flow and timing for the benefit of the guests and the smooth operation of the tour.
Tour Comfort and Clothing Choice
- All transportation within the region after the flight is provided by buses. For your comfort during the journey, we recommend choosing comfortable clothing suitable for the season.
- The city centers of historical towns such as Kotor, Ohrid, Mostar, and Sarajevo generally consist of stone and cobblestone surfaces. Non-slip, comfortable walking shoes are very important for your comfort.
Budget and Currency Planning
- Different currencies (Dinar, Denar, Lek, Mark, etc.) are used in the countries we will visit during the tour. For your expenses, lunch meals, and extra free-time activities, it is most practical to have small banknotes in Euro with you. Our guide will assist you with reliable currency exchange points for local currencies.
