Mytilene–Piraeus Ferry: Athens Journey and Ticket Guide

Journey from Lesbos to Athens by sea

If you want to combine your Lesbos holiday with Athens or reach the island from mainland Greece, you can research the Mytilene–Piraeus connection according to your travel date. Piraeus is the major port of the Athens region; after disembarking, you will need to plan transport separately to the city center. Güven Travel, based in Dikili, offers support to evaluate your crossing from Türkiye together with your onward ferry journey and ticket options.

Plan the two sea journeys separately

The Türkiye–Lesbos crossing and the Lesbos–Piraeus sailing are separate journeys. Add border procedures, baggage collection and boarding time for the second ship to the arrival time of the first ferry. Missing a later sailing because of a delay on separate tickets does not mean automatic protection. If a same-day connection is not suitable, consider a plan that includes an overnight stay on Lesbos. Departing from Dikili can be a starting option if it suits your local transport; other ports are compared according to the date.

Blue Star Ferries and choosing a sailing

Blue Star Ferries is one of the operators you can start your research with. The direction of the sailing, date, ship, intermediate stops and available accommodation classes should be checked together. Do not assume that the same ship, the same duration or the same gate will be used every day. Other operator options can only be compared for the relevant date and on the actual sailings offered.

Seat and cabin options

The features of the economy area, numbered seats and inside/outside cabin options may vary by ship. Passengers who want a cabin with a window should check the outside cabin option, whether the entire cabin is sold or only a berth in a shared cabin, and whether the cabin is reserved for private use. The number of beds alone does not explain the total price or the right of private use.

What information is needed for a price quote?

Outbound and return dates, number of passengers and age groups, preferred seating/cabin class, vehicle information and flexibility needs determine the price. The quote should show the per-person fare, cabin usage method, vehicle fee, any service fee and the total payment separately. A round-trip total is not finalized simply by doubling the one-way fare. The current price is determined during the quote, according to the availability of the selected sailing and the ticket conditions.

Piraeus and visa check

The visa-on-arrival scheme for the islands does not cover crossing to mainland Greece. Do not assume that your entry right to Lesbos is also sufficient for travel to Piraeus/Athens. Check the current official conditions based on your passport, the validity range of your visa and your entry right before purchasing a ticket. A ferry ticket does not replace permission to enter the country.

Let us evaluate your journey together

You can ask Güven Travel about ticket options by sharing your travel date, number of passengers, cabin expectations and, if applicable, your vehicle dimensions. Evaluating a Lesbos hotel, car rental and your Türkiye connection within the same plan makes the return day and total budget clearer. The exact sailing and price are determined by the quote offered on the relevant date and the carrier's conditions.
