Departure and Border Crossing: First Steps from the Aegean to Europe
We begin our enjoyable journey towards the Balkan region, where history and culture blend, by meeting our esteemed guests at the designated stops.
Our journey starts between 16:00 and 18:00. We will first pick up our guests from the Foça, Aliağa, Bergama, and Dikili route, according to the time in the notification message (SMS) that will be sent one day before the tour. Afterwards, we complete our group with guests joining from Ayvalık, Edremit, Akçay, and Altınoluk.
Leaving the Gulf behind, we reach Çanakkale via Küçükkuyu and Ezine. After our breaks here, we cross to the opposite shore, the Gallipoli Peninsula, accompanied by the unique views of the strait (via bridge or ferry). Our guide's brief information and pleasant conversations will accompany us along the way.
Approaching midnight, we arrive at İpsala, Turkey’s gateway to Europe, via Keşan. We carry out our passport and customs procedures here. During the procedures, guests who wish can shop at the Duty Free (Tax-Free Sales Store).
After completing the Turkish and Greek customs checks, we enter the neighboring country's territory by crossing the Meriç River. We rest on the bus for the actual Balkan adventure that will start in the early morning.
After our night journey, we complete our passport and customs procedures at the Ipsala Border Gate and enter Greece in the early morning. Progressing through the routes of Dedeağaç and Gümülcine, we arrive in Nea Karvali with the first light of the day.
Cookie Break and Historical Kavala Tour We start the day at Anastasia’s Kourabies Lovies, one of the first producers of the famous Kavala Cookie. Here, during our extra breakfast break, you can taste fresh cookies and shop for your loved ones. Then, we head to Kavala, one of the most important port cities in the Balkans. As we enter the city, we are greeted by the majestic Aqueduct built during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. On our walking tour in the old town area, we visit the Pargalı İbrahim Pasha Mosque, which was converted into a church after the population exchange, the birthplace of Kavalalı Mehmet Ali Pasha, his statue, and the remarkable Ottoman architectural example, the Imaret Complex.
Journey to Thessaloniki and Emotional Visit After a short free time, we set off for Thessaloniki, which holds a special place in our hearts, accompanied by the breathtaking views of Lake Koronia and the Halkidiki Peninsula. Upon our arrival in the city, we will have a city tour with our guide, during which we will visit;
In the most meaningful stop of the day, we visit the house where our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born, which now serves as a museum, the Atatürk House. (Depending on the restoration status, a description may be given from outside).
Evening: Traditional Greek Tavern Entertainment After our city tour, we check into our hotel. In the evening, we have one of the most enjoyable moments of the tour awaiting us: the included dinner at a Greek Tavern program! Enjoying live music and traditional tunes, we savor a delicious dinner and relish the nights of Thessaloniki.

After a delightful breakfast in Thessaloniki, we begin our journey towards North Macedonia. During our route, we make a brief stop where you can try Greece's famous cold coffee, Frappé, and then complete our passport procedures to cross the border.
Atatürk's Youth: Manastır (Bitola) We arrive at Manastır, the second largest city in North Macedonia, which has left deep marks in our history. Our first stop is the Manastır Military High School, where the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk received his military education, and which now serves as a museum. After this emotional visit, we take a walk in the lively Širok Sokak (Wide Street), which is considered the heart of the city, reminiscent of İzmir's Cevat Şakir Street. As we listen to our guide tell the story of Eleni Karinte, who is said to be Atatürk's first love, we also have the chance to see her house from the outside.
Niyazi Pasha's City: Resne We continue our journey through Resne, famous for its apples. In the land where the saying “Neither a martyr nor a veteran, they went in vain, Niyazi” originated, we listen to this interesting story from our guide and then see the Niyazi Pasha Palace from the outside before heading to Ohrid.
The Pearl of the Balkans: Ohrid City Tour We start our city tour in Ohrid, greeted by the unique lake view. In the history-laden streets, we visit:

Evening: Traditional Macedonian Night After our tour, we check into our hotel. In the evening, we experience the joy of Balkan culture together during our included dinner program of the Macedonian Night, with local music and folklore performances.

After a beautiful breakfast in Ohrid, we set off towards St. Naum, a place where nature generously displays all its colors and tranquility abounds.
Places of Serenity: St. Naum and Sarı Saltuk Located at the foothills of the Pelister Mountain, at the source of Lake Ohrid, in this fairy-tale region; you can join (extra) a boat tour accompanied by the chirping of birds, or optionally take a delightful coffee break on the lakeshore. In this sacred area, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, we visit the St. Naum Monastery and, according to legends, the Sarı Saltuk Shrine, experiencing the spiritual atmosphere of the region.
Tasty Break and Natural Wonder: Matka Canyon Continuing our journey, we stop at Mekicite Od Straza located at the summit of the Mavrovo Mountain; here, we enjoy a delicious aperitif break with the region's traditional pie and famous cheese made from goat's milk. After seeing the cities of Gostivar and Kalkandelen from a panoramic viewpoint, we reach the natural wonder of Matka Canyon, the lifeblood of Skopje. You can take photos in this unique canyon, relax at the cafes by the river, or discover the depths of the canyon with (extra) canoe tours.
City of Statues: Skopje City Tour Upon arriving in the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje, our journey through history begins. We will explore the most beautiful examples of Ottoman heritage, including;
Then, we cross the historical Stone Bridge over the Vardar River to reach Macedonia Square, which resembles an open-air museum with its gigantic statues. In the square, we see the statues of Alexander the Great, Tsar Samuel, Justinian I, King Philip, and Queen Olympia and visit the House of Memory for Mother Teresa, who was born in Skopje.
Evening: Balkan Flavors in the Turkish Bazaar We conclude the day in the authentic atmosphere of the historic Turkish Bazaar. For dinner, we will enjoy Skopje's famous delicacies, Dafce Grafce (Beans in a Pot) and the irresistible Skopje Kebab. After dinner, we check into our hotel amid the lights of this beautiful city.

Here, we visit the tomb of Sultan Murat Hüdavendigar, one of the most distinguished figures of Ottoman history, who was martyred after the first Battle of Kosovo. Following this spiritual atmosphere, we proceed to Prizren, one of the cities that best reflects the spirit of the Balkans.
The Pearl of the Balkans: Prizren Located at the foothills of the Sharr Mountains, with the gushing Bistrica River flowing through it, Prizren greets us like an open-air museum. During the city tour with our guide, we will visit:
Entering Albania and Shkodra Saying farewell to the warm-hearted people of Kosovo, we enter Albania as we approach the Adriatic coast. Our destination is the ancient city of Shkodra. Here;

Where Luxury Meets History: Budva and Kotor Our first stop is the famous Budva, a popular destination for Europe's jet set, known for its beaches. After observing both the modern face and the historical texture of the city, we head towards the Kotor Bay, which is considered the southernmost fjord in the world. We arrive in Kotor, which fascinates with its narrow streets and is under UNESCO protection. During our walk in the historical castle, we will see;

The Language of Stones: Počitel and Blagaj Alperenler Tekke Our first stop on this journey is the Počitelj Village, a true Ottoman fortress with its stone houses and unique architecture that defy time. Then, we reach Blagaj, where nature and spirituality embrace each other. Here, at the source of the Buna River, which springs from the base of a massive rock, we visit the Alperenler Tekke (Sarı Saltuk Tekke), which has stood for 550 years. Experiencing this historical atmosphere accompanied by the soothing sound of water will be one of the most unforgettable moments of our tour.
Symbolic City: Mostar and the Historical Bridge Following the Buna River, we arrive at Mostar, a symbol of elegance that unites the two banks of the Neretva River. We visit the Historical Mostar Bridge, built by architect Hayreddin and symbolizing the Bosnian War. While walking through the stone streets of the old town, we visit the Koski Mehmet Paša Mosque, where we get the best view of the bridge and pay our respects to the martyrdoms that remain from those dark days.
The Jerusalem of the Balkans: Sarajevo Continuing our tour, we reach the capital Sarajevo, where sadness and joy, east and west intertwine. We take a stroll in Bascarsija, one of the most authentic bazaars in Europe. During our city tour, we will see:

After our breakfast in Sarajevo, we make our way toward the Serbian border, gliding through the peaceful mountain villages and high plateaus of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the end of this delightful journey through nature, we reach Belgrade, the capital city whose name means "White City."

We conclude our "Heritage of Ata" journey, which lasted 9 days and encompassed 7 countries and dozens of cities, leaving you with unforgettable memories and beautiful friendships, as we drop you off at the locations we picked you up from.
With the completion of our passport and customs procedures at the Kapıkule Border Gate, under the shadow of our star-and-crescent flag, we continue our journey through Edirne, our first stop on our homeland.
Return Journey and Sweet Fatigue After 9 days in 7 different countries, where we traced the footprints of the Ottoman Empire, visited the lands where our founder was born and studied, this unique adventure that stretches from the blue of the Adriatic to the emerald green rivers of the Balkans enters its final kilometers.
