History, Nature, and Sorrow Together: A Complete Tour of Northern Cyprus
Starting from Izmir, the jewel of the Aegean Sea, and heading to Northern Cyprus, the historically rich island in the Eastern Mediterranean, an unforgettable holiday experience awaits you with its cultural heritage and relaxing atmosphere!
On this special tour departing from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, you will explore Cyprus step by step, from the authentic streets of Nicosia within its walls to the stunning views of the Beşparmak Mountains, from the fairy-tale port of Girne to the time-defying historical sites of Gazimağusa.
We meet our valued guests at the International Terminal of Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. The Ajet Airlines flight departs at 07:00 and we arrive at Ercan Airport at 07:20 local time.
After checking in our luggage at the airport, we leave and head to Nicosia. We get a panoramic view of Nicosia’s walls and enter the city through the Girne Gate. Along the way, we visit the Mevlevi Tekke, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Museum, Sarayönü Square, the court buildings, and the Lokmacı Gate in Arasta. Next, we tour St. Sophia Cathedral (Selimiye Mosque) and then the Grand Bazaar, allowing time for free exploration there. Guests who wish can enjoy Cypriot specialties while sipping their morning coffee.
After visiting the Kumarcılar Hanı, we get back into our vehicle and head towards Girne. In Girne, our first stop is Beylerbeyi village at the foot of the Beşparmak Mountains. Here, after visiting the Bellapais Monastery, we proceed to the Girne Castle and Girne Marina in the city center.
After some free time in the center, we head to the Karaoğlanoğlu area where the first operation took place in 1974. There, we visit Yavuz Landing Bay, the Ç-1974 landing ship, the fighter jets, tanks, and helicopters used by Turkish troops during the Cyprus Peace Operation, as well as the Karaoğlanoğlu Martyrs’ Site, before returning to our hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay are at our hotel.
After breakfast at our hotel, we give our valued guests free time all day to enjoy the hotel’s facilities and relax.
Overnight at our hotel. ( Les Ambassadeurs Hotel Casino & Marina )
After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we board the tour vehicle with our luggage and set off. We head east across Cyprus towards the city of Famagusta.
Our first stop in Famagusta is the abandoned city of Varosha (Kapalı Maraş); deserted all at once 52 years ago and never used again, it bears witness to how the world's second-richest settlement in 1974 has survived to this day. Along the city's coastline,
we see the world's first luxury Golden Sands Hotel, its seemingly endless beaches, and many structures such as abandoned car showrooms, an opera and ballet house, and schools. Then we make our way to the Famagusta city walls, which have stood since the Middle Ages. We take in panoramic views of the Famagusta Walls and moats, which encircle the city like a shield, before entering the fortress. We visit the Porta del Mare gate, which provides access to the city, St. Nicholas Cathedral (Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque), which has stood tall since the Middle Ages, the dungeon where national poet Namık Kemal spent 38 months in exile in 1873, and the entrance gates of the Venetian Palace, before enjoying free time in the city. After our free time, we set off for Ercan Airport. After completing the baggage and check-in procedures at the airport, we board our flight. We depart on AJet Airlines flight to İzmir, scheduled for 23:25,
and arrive in İzmir at 01:50 local time. This marks the end of our trip and services. We say goodbye to our valued guests and hope to see you on our next trip.
